So far, I’ve explored Panama City, Colonial Panama City (Casco Viejo), and Boquete and am looking at the Beach Communities;
Colonial Panama City is my favorite… so far.
There’s just something about wandering the cobblestone streets, admiring the colorful buildings, grabbing a coffee, and turning every corner to find another photo-worthy view. It has history, personality, great restaurants, and enough charm to make me completely lose track of time.
Boquete is beautiful too. If you’re looking for cooler weather, mountain views, and a slower pace of life, I completely understand the appeal. It’s also easier on the wallet, especially when it comes to housing and not having your air conditioner work overtime.
But here’s what I’ve realized…
Choosing where to live isn’t always about finding the cheapest place. Sometimes it’s about finding the place that feels like you.
For me, that’s Colonial Panama City… at least for now.
I still have more of Panama to explore, so ask me again in a week. My opinion could change. Although Casco Viejo has set the bar pretty high.
