From Waterfalls, Beach Clubs, Polo to Golfing

My time in the Dominican Republic was a thrilling journey of adventure and discovery. I immersed myself in a waterfront development, explored the local attractions, and embarked on an exclusive Real Estate Trade Mission. This mission, a unique opportunity, took me to places where foreigners are drawn to purchase properties, allowed me to witness new construction projects, and treated me to the rich flavors of the local cuisine and attractions. I discovered that the Dominican Republic is a haven for sporting enthusiasts and offers a unique blend of activities. Like many islands, it boasts stunning beaches and exclusive Beach Clubs, where I indulged in a luxury day, savoring delectable cuisine and partaking in thrilling water sports. Imagine diving into the year-round tropical climate, buoyed by cooling trade winds, and enjoying the beats of DJs.

Golf Courses

Some of the best golfing is here with 26 golf courses designed by Jack Nicklaus, Pete Dye, and Robert Trent Jones Sr. Love Imagining a fairway drive with ocean views and then a challenge at Teeth of the Dog, Punta Espada, or Corales with their challenging terrains. These courses were daunting to see.

Tennis and Pickle Ball

Tennis and Pickle Ball has a resort and public courts, including Casa de Camp Tennis Center. Santo Domingo has many pickleball arenas to choose from, and the International Tennis Center in Sosua/Cabarete and other provinces offer a selection of public tennis and pickleball courts.

Boating

Let's talk Boating for the boating and fishing Enthusiasts! Full-service marinas and anchorages include Marina Cap Cana, Marina Puerto Bahia, Playa Rogelio, and Ocean World Marina between Florida and Puerto Rico. There are also smaller anchorages in many places, and I love the Yacht Clubs! Fishing here is off the charts, and a little competition never hurts.

Polo Clubs & Scuba Diving

Polo Clubs are fantastic, and seeing the field and the Ocean is quite the combination—Puntacana Polo Club, Sierra Prieta Polo Club, and the British Polo Academy all offer a top-notch polo experience in beautiful surroundings. Scuba Diving is well established, and I personally took a small private boat to the delectable reef, home to colorful fish and coral and good dive instruction for many levels.

Healthcare

Rest assured, the Dominican Republic prioritizes your health. With a range of healthcare options, from public to private hospitals, you can be confident that your healthcare needs will be met quickly and efficiently. Whether you prefer the convenience of private healthcare or the affordability of public services, the choice is yours, ensuring your peace of mind in your potential relocation. Private hospitals offer much cheaper healthcare closer to the United States or Canada. Many folks travel to the Dominican Republic for top-notch care at a much-discounted price compared to the U.S.! You can find many private hospitals in Santo Domingo and Santiago.

Foreigners have the same rights as citizens in purchasing property

  • Attractive tax incentives for investing in real estate- no capital gains tax and exemptions from property transfer taxes.
  • Your social security and pension benefits are not taxable. Only any income you earn in the Dominican Republic
  • Political stability is good with regular elections and continued confidence in the government. Mixing in with a growing economy and tourism constantly increasing lends to the stability and growth potential of your investment in real estate. A call for stricter border control measures is moving forward.
  • To obtain a residence VISA, you must demonstrate proof of income or financial means to support yourself- the amount varies depending on the VISA you are applying for.
